Pioneer Park set to open Saturday

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - This weekend there's a lot going on as the park officially kicks off its summer season. Let's go inside and take a look at all the fun activities they have taking place this holiday weekend.

This Saturday marks Pioneer Park's official opening weekend and the 50th anniversary of the grand opening that took place back in 1967. To remember the park the past 50 years, Pioneer Park and the Fairbanks Arts Association have a 50th anniversary exhibit in the Bear Gallery.

Don't forget to check out the live music going on, with performances by Pantheon Steel Drum band, Kit Carson, Tim Robb, and Kentucky tundra.

Of course, there will be plenty to do with the kids, including free train rides, museum tours, a carnival and free carousel and mini-golf for the first 500 people!

There's so much to do this Saturday here at Pioneer Park; make sure you come down and visit!
