FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Tony Bilagecenter had luck on his side today after his car gave him some trouble.
"I pulled over as soon as it died and we had seen smoke come out of the ventilation, as soon as I had seen the smoke I had to get my son out and we got out, my brother was in there along with my dog, we all got out and about from here to right over there, 10 feet away we noticed that it was on fire," he explained.
As Bilagecenter traveled down the Steese Highway, he noticed a burning smell which soon turned into an engine fire.
Alaska State Troopers and the local fire department were dispatched to the area.
All passengers including Bilagecenter's pet, made it out safe.
