North Pole Man gets Two Years for DV Assault

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A North Pole man was sentenced to two years behind bars today for allegedly holding a woman captive and beating her every time she tried to leave.
47-year-old Jeffery Holt was originally charged with Kidnapping, sexual assault and assault; but he struck a deal with the state and pleaded guilty to 2 counts of assault.
Alaska State Troopers say in November of 2016, they received a call from a woman asking for help from a trailer home in North Pole.
When officials arrived on scene, they say they found the victim bruised, with a bloody nose and black eyes.
She told the troopers Holt had not allowed her to leave the home, and would assault her if she tried.
Superior Court Judge, Michael McConahy says this is Holt's 4th Domestic violence conviction, and told him that if he plans on being in a relationship in the future, this kind of action needs to stop.
