Missing Person: Sean Murphy

The Alaska State Troopers are asking for the public's help in locating an overdue kayaker not seen since Thursday.
AST received a missing person's report this morning for 36-year-old Sean Murphy of Fairbanks.
Murphy was last seen on July 6th and had departed Fairbanks via the Chena River access at the end of Chena Small Tracts.
His destination and route are unknown.
He is believed to have continued down the Tanana River.
Murphey is 6-one and approximately 200 pounds.
He was aboard a red, single seat kayak.
Alaska State Tooper, Tyler Stuart, says it is not clear if Murphy was going on an extended trip, or if he should have returned by now.
"Some of our information is pretty limited right now. We know who, Sean Murphy. He left Fairbanks via Kayak. We don't really have any itinerary or where he was going or how long he was supposed to be gone. He did speak with a family member saying he was leaving but we don't know how long, we don't know where, we don't know when he was supposed to return. We don't know if it was supposed to be a one day trip or is in the middle of weeklong trip still. He departed on a red kayak, something that would hopefully stand out. If anybody sees him or his kayak or signs of him or spoken with him, to let us know."
Anyone who has seen Murphy, or anyone with information, is encouraged to call the Alaska State Troopers at 451-5100.
