FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Alaska Governor Bill Walker has named the newest member of the state's Marijuana Control Board.
Jeff Ankerfelt - the Police Chief of Sitka - will be the 5th and latest member of that body.
Ankerfelt will be replacing Travis Welch - who resigned from the board after losing his job as the North Slope Borough Police Chief in March.
Welch's resignation came only months after he was nominated.
Ankerfelt is still subject to legislative approval.
