Man Accused of murdering girlfriend Arraigned

The man accused of murdering his girlfriend in their Hamilton Acres home on Saturday was arraigned today in Fairbanks District court.
37-year-old Roberto Leal (LEE-AL) is charged with second degree murder.
Just before 4 a-m Saturday, Fairbanks Police and Fire Department units responded to A-Street regarding a person not breathing.
The victim, 29-year-old Robyn Gray, was found deceased.
The cause of death was determined to be asphyxia from strangulation or suffocation.
Leal, along with the couple's two young children, was at the apartment at the time of her death.
Leal was taken into custody yesterday afternoon; the children were placed with family members.
F-P-D Detective, Anthony Laska, says during the investigation, officials did find evidence of violence in the home.
"At this point the scene itself gave us some information. There was damage in the master bedroom. It looked like things were strewn about and there was also a television that was recovered in the dumpster that had been stomped on and damaged as well. So there were definitely signs there was some sort of a domestic dispute going on. Anyone that has had contact with the couple and may know how they actually interacted with each other, if they could come forward and just give us the information that they have about their contact would be great."
Again, anyone with information regarding the couple or this case is asked to contact Detective Laska at 450-6451.
