Highest voter turnout to election in years

Yesterday's municipal election saw more Interior residents cast ballots than any of the last 20 years in local races - and possibly the most ever.
According to borough officials, 17-thousand- 485 voters participated in the election yesterday.
Combined with as many as 3-thousand-849 absentee and questioned ballots still waiting to be counted, turnout could be as high as 21-thousand-334 - or almost 31 percent.
The highest municipal turnout prior to this year was in 1993, when 19- thousand- 279 Interior residents cast ballots in the borough election.
