Former Fort Wainwright soldier convicted of distributing child pornography

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A former Fort Wainwright Soldier was convicted in federal court of distributing child pornography after allegedly using an online site to solicit children.
According to evidence presented in trial, 27-year-old Kaleb Basey posted an advertisement in 2014 on the Fairbanks Craigslist website asking, "any dads or moms want to share a daughter with me for the night?"
The Alaska State Troopers were notified of the listing and began an investigation.
They identified Basey within 24 hours and found he was living on post in the barracks.
With assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, officials allegedly uncovered additional online postings and child pornography.
Basey's expected sentence ranges from 5 to 20 years behind bars.
