Fairbanks man pleads guilty to assault charges

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A Fairbanks man pleaded guilty to assault charges and was sentenced yesterday in Superior Court.
31-year-old Johnny Adams faced counts of Armed Robbery, assault and criminal mischief.
According to the felony complaint, in September of 20-16 Adams allegedly attempted to steal a bottle of vodka from Thrifty Liquor.
The manager of the store had asked Adams to leave when Adams allegedly pulled out a pair of cross-cut pliers and threatened him with them.
The manager then sprayed Adams with Bear Spray until he could be detained.
Adams was sentenced to 5 years in prison with 4 suspended, and 4 years of probation.
