Fairbanks man arraigned on attempted murder charges

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - 39-year-old Vincent Nelson of Fairbanks was arraigned today on charges of attempted murder and first degree failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer.

According to reports, Nelson threatened victim Dustin Young at his residence on Bunnell Street yesterday afternoon, then fled from officers who were in the vicinity.

Nelson and two others were chased to an area off Bias Drive, where Nelson fled on foot.

Both of the other vehicle occupants were arrested, one of whom was identified as Shae-Lyn Probert, and charged with hindering prosecution.

Later in the evening, police made contact with Nelson, who again fled into the woods on foot near Shenandoah Drive and was apprehended without incident a short time later.
