Delta man pleads guilty in rape case

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A 19-year-old Delta man pleaded guilty earlier this week in Fairbanks Superior Court for allegedly raping a 16-year-old.
John Oliver Lennon was charged with first degree sexual assault, but struck a deal with the state and pleaded down to 2nd degree.
According to the Alaska State Trooper Complaint, a teenage victim contacted officials, stating she had been raped.
The girl told law enforcement on June 11th that Lennon crawled into the bed she was sleeping in, held her down, and began assaulting her, even after she said 'no'.
Lennon reportedly confessed that the incident did happen, and he only stopped when he realized (in his words) what a 'monster' he was being.
His expected sentence is 5 years behind bars.
