According to an announcement from Big Brothers Big Sisters today, there will be no matches of adult mentors to children for the remainder of 2017.

Young people in the program will continue to be served, and current youth and volunteer matches will receive support from Big Brothers Big Sisters, with a staff person focused on the Fairbanks area.

CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters, Heather Harris, commented on the upcoming changes to the organization to better prepare for 2018.

"We're going to take this Fall to focus on the Fairbanks area and figure out what it looks like- how do we better serve the youth more effectively in 2018. So that will look like staffing changes for the rest of 2017, but really focused on how do we better serve more youth into 2018."
