Charges against ATV rider dropped following encounter with former FCC officer

Charges were dropped on Tuesday against the ATV rider that claimed he was assaulted by an off-duty corrections officer.

Devarge Walker had been charged with assault four for an altercation that happened back in May.

Walker had contacted several media outlets with his GoPro footage after he was approached by Gregory Braeuer, on off-duty FCC corrections officer, while out riding on his 4-wheeler.

Walker said Braeuer had not removed his hand from his ATV when asked and after a short scuffle, the off duty CO went to his vehicle and pulled out a gun.
Walker said he was scared for his life when Braeuer forced him to the ground, then told him he had a badge.

Braeuer was put on administrative leave after the incident and since the release of the video to the public; Braeuer is no longer employed at the Fairbanks Correctional Center.

The District Attorney's office is expected to release a statement on the dropped charges soon.
