When I am not working, I enjoy running, skiing, biking, or editing my own video and photos during my own time.
I'm originally from Peru in South America. I became adopted after nearly 4 months old to the US in Alaska. I've lived in Alaska my entire life. I graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a bachelors degree in journalism and a minor in film studies. I interned at the Fairbanks Daily News Miner for one summer in 2014 and I was a journalism reporter/photographer for the university's news paper "The Sun Star" for nearly 4 years. I learned the ropes and skills of journalism as far back as high school. As a reporter, I cover a lot of the Fairbanks city story beats and Alaska native events. I started at News 13 back in February 2016 and have worked there ever since. When I am not working, I enjoy running, skiing, biking, or editing my own video and photos during my own time. I'm a well experienced runner since I started in 6th grade. I have not quit since then. I believe exercise goes hand in hand with performing well on the job. - David
