Who's he kidding, he's had a year and a half to do this. Things aren't right enough over there to have our troops pulled. And those 50,000 left over there will still be handling combat situations. Iraq can't seem to get it together and he's pulling out. The economy and jobs, right, in eighteen months he couldn't have done something more than pay off CEO's with billions of tax payer money. It's obvious that he was a junior Senator, and his preformance since taking the oath has been less than stellar. It's apparent that even those that voted for him have come to the conclusion that it's all retoric. If he had given the tax paying public all the stimulus money, this country would have been out of it's economic slump already. All that money would have gone back into the economy instead of into the pockets of already rich multi-millionaires. Is America going to wake up when we're under Chinese rule or worse yet, Mexican Drug cartels. Guess the apathetic masses won't have anyone to blame but themselves when it's all gone. I used to think Glen Beck was a whacho, but the longer Obama is in office, my mind is changing. I bet we won't be in any better shape in the next 24 months, don't think Obama can continue to blame Bush then. I taught my kids, actions speak louder than words. Obama's actions so far don't show me he's right for this country or for that matter our congress. They all need to go.

I would like all those to know that what was said in the paper about my mother NOT giving or PLACING me for adoption is true. She was forced to sign documents that were one thing and were something else. In other words, she was LIED to. Then she was driven to the Utah State line to Wendover Nevada and put on a bus and told NEVER to return or she would be put into prison. Be so very careful of what you may think you know and what my mother lived through, you will find that you are mistaken. She knows what happened and didn't give up. Thank you.

Glad the victim was a good shot, even while being attacked. Saves us taxpayers alot of money, and he defended his home with allowable force. Remember the 2nd Amendment, this ust a[art of what its for.

A man's home IS his CASTLE. Good thing we've got the 2nd Amendment to our Constitution.

I heard this story on the local news and wrote the following comment to the new editor. He said he had to read it as AP wrote it. Please read com comments. As the grandmother of 3 adopted children, the found terminology you used for the adoption story offensive. I doubt seriously the birth mother was literally “forced” to give up her baby for adoption rather than PLACE him for adoption because she was unable to care for him and wanted him to have a better life My daughter and her husband had been married 12 years and were childless when they adopted. All three of their children were PLACED for adoption because the birth mothers were unable to provide them a a good home. They are still in touch with birth parents as the birth parents wish Only one consistently contacts them and she is just happy to know the twins are doing well. There are a lot of adoptive children in Juneau because their mothers thought of the child instead of themselves.

He was the one assaulted, if you can not speak your mind even if it was "private property" it is open to the public. So if you have a "Palin" button, or anything that is political in subject, will you be asked to leave? Thrown to the ground and two thugs buried into your back?! To defend a pick and choose persecution of what the "Security patrol" deems as acceptable is not constitutional, his rights were violated and nobody helped. What are you going to do when they come for you?

If the fairgrounds are fair game for anti abortion, and other such free speech issues, then this person was wrongly arrested for their right to proclaim his opinion. I doubt these charges will stick. Otherwise LaRouche should have good grounds for recourse. I for one hopes he makes sure that those that stomped on his freedom will receive their own punishment. The fairgrounds can not be allowed to pick and choose which social issues they will support.

I am not familiar with the incident 4 years ago but the article says that they found her waiting in her car? I almost feel that there should be a separate kind of charge for the people that realized they were too drunk to drive and pull over to sleep it off. Yes I get that for the people that drove to the spot still drove drunk and I understand the argument for those that say they just caught them before they drove but it is slightly unfair to punish those who do show some sense. Plus it's to dam cold in this state to sleep it off in your car without the keys in it. But as to the "she had a good reason to drive drunk" augment, that's just BS. First and foremost her life is not worth more than the people she could have killed while driving drunk. She took a chance and lost, that's the reason why we have laws. I don't think the charges should be dropped but maybe a little bit of mercy could be applied.

I assume that they had good evidence to hold him for three months? Did he share other identifying marks that the assailant had? or had he been making strange and out of the ordinary advances toward the victim? would be nice to know more? Glad that they finally cleared him but I can't imagine spending 3 months in jail, losing my job (lame as it was) and having to leave the place that I was living for the past 4 years all over something that I didn't do and for something so terrible.

I remember Joe when he sat on the bench in Tok. His individual ideas interfered with some of his judgements. I don't want that to happen in Washington. We need someone to represent us, not his own ideas on what is right. He has causesd individuals a lot of money, by making them get a lawyer in order to get a judgement thqat they both agreed on from the start.
