FAIRBANKS-So close but yet so far. Last year the West Valley Wolfpack were one game away from making the postseason but lost 42-13 in Colony in the season finale. The pack went 3-5 overall and 1-3 in the Railbelt. Second year head coach Kyle Allison learned that preparation before game day is the most important thing.

"We wanted to make sure that every player that stepped on the field was confident in their ability and confident in their assignment also. So we just wanted to make sure our kids had better preparation and were able to execute when asked," Allison said.
