High school hockey teams split in road games

FAIRBANKS-Interior high school hockey players also laced up their skates last night in a number of contests around the state on Friday night.

North Pole travel to take on Service. A single goal difference propelled the Cougars over the Patriots 5-4.

West Valley unleashed the Wolfpack against Juneau. That game would be a blow out with a 12-1 final score.

Shooters start first day of rifle regionals

FAIRBANKS-This afternoon high school shooters were in the EF Horton Rifle Range for the MAC Championships. The local shooters got a feel of the big time as they shot three air rifle relays in the Alaska Nanooks home range.

The first relay was this morning at 9:30 am. West Valley, Hutchison, Tok, Delta, North Pole and Lathrop were represented. Malinda Malenfant led the last air rifle relay of the day with a 582.

The final day of shooting starts at 10 am tomorrow morning with smallbore.
