The Patriots were runner-ups in the Cordova Invitational volleyball tournament and the Wolfpack make it into the silver bracket of the Chugiak Invitational.

FAIRBANKS-The high school football season is already here. Well not quite but when preseason polls start coming out that means it's definitely coming up soon.

FAIRBANKS-The Alaska Nanook volleyball team got a late addition to their 2014 roster yesterday. Adriana Horner, from Nome-Belt , signed her national letter of intent to play for UAF and head coach Mallory Larranaga this fall. She will remain a Nanook in college.
Horner was a two-time team captain for the Nome Nanooks and was an all-conference tournament pick and was all-tournament at the West Valley Invitational. Horner was also a part of a Nome team that won consecutive 3A Western Conference championships in 2012 and 2013. She plans to major in music education.
FAIRBANKS-The Fairbanks Ice Dogs will be back on the ice for the 2014-2015 season in just a few weeks. The one big event to kickoff the new season isn't one the ice-it's the Fairbanks Ice Dogs Golf Scramble.
The event is in its 14th year and it gives the chance for the new incoming Ice Dogs players to get a first hand feel for the Fairbanks hockey community and the Ice Dogs fans.
FAIRBANKS-The Alaska International Senior Games continue competition this week. Last night I caught up with some seasoned pros with Archery bows.
14 archers came out to UAF Archery Range right off Farmers Loop road by UAF's upper campus. The archers aimed at 60, 50, and 40 yard targets and shot 45 times to get the best out of 900 points. There are five different styles like Barebow and Recurve.
FAIRBANKS-The high school football season isn't the only fall prep sport that's about to start. Cross country will begin this weekend. On Saturday at the West Ridge trails the West Valley Wolfpack will have the West Valley Invitational at 10 a.m. to start their season.
You can't forget about the new sport-flag football. Official practices started yesterday for the ladies. Lathrop, North Pole, Hutchison and West Valley are looking to field teams this fall for flag football. A schedule is still in the works.
FAIRBANKS-The Alaska International Senior Games have some interesting events coming up on the schedule as the games continue.
Pickleball took place this afternoon starting three days of pickleball action with men's and women's singles as well as doubles and mixed doubles play. Bowling and Cycling highlight tonight's events.
There will be a 10K run tomorrow evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Chena Lakes Recreation Area. Archery will take place tonight and tomorrow at the UAF Archery Range at 6 pm.
FAIRBANKS-Today the 11th Alaska International Senior Games continued and Weeks Field was the site for arguably one of the most popular sports of AISG.Bocce.
Bocce is essentially curling on grass and the interest has been growing much like pickle ball another popular event among seniors. 120 competitors signed up for Bocce this year setting a new record for participants.
