BILLINGS, MT-In college volleyball UAF fell in three sets on the road. UAF led 23-20 in the first set but the Montana State Billings Yellowjackets stung the Nanooks with a 29-27, 25-18, 25-17 defeat.
Monica Grimsund had a match high 14 kills hitting 500. Riley Podowicz hit a match high 56 percent for UAF on 9 kills. Sam Harthun led UAF with 12 kills and 15 digs.

FAIRBANKS-The GNAC Preseason Men's Basketball Polls were released yesterday and the Alaska Nanooks were picked seventh in the 10 team conference.
Alaska returns one starter in senior point guard Joe Slocum after losing seven seniors from last season. A season, in which Alaska won 18 games, finished third in the GNAC and made it to the semifinals. Alaska head coach Mick Durham enters his 20th season of coaching and fourth year at the helm at UAF. He's 15 wins away from 300 career victories. Durham also brought in Bobby Howard as his new assistant coach.
The Nanook cross country teams go back to Oregon for Lewis and Clarke Invitational in final regular season meet.
