Rams pick up conference win in a nail biter

After picking up a win in the Meyton Cup Sagen Maddalena and the rest of team USA travel to Munich Germany for another tournament. The competition was early this morning and had a field of 98 international shooters. Maddalena came in 34th with a score of 414.5. She placed third among her teammates for Team USA. She trailed first place by just more than five points. In her win in the Meyton Cup she broke a record with her score of 249. The previous record in that competition was set in 2014 and was 211. That was Maddalena's first individual senior international title.
UAF Hockey is gearing up for a Thanksgiving weekend series against Michigan Technological University.
MTU will be traveling to Fairbanks this Friday and Saturday to take on the Nooks at the Carlson Center. The Nooks are coming off a close series a couple weeks ago in Huntsville, Alabama where they tied the first game 3 to 3.
The second game they were able to score the same amount, but held the Chargers to only 1 goal to take a win back to Fairbanks. MTU is up 12 to 3 in a series against U-A-F dating back to the 1990-91 season.
UAF Hockey traveled to Lake Superior State to take on the Lakers last night in a W-C-H-A divisional match-up.
Sophomore Chad Staley put the Nooks on the board first with a wrap-around goal at the 16:22 mark in the first period. On a power-play less than a minute later, Freshman Defense-man Tristan Thompson scored his second power play goal of the season giving the nooks a 2 - 0 lead in the first period.
