EIELSON AFB-The rematch of all rematches takes place on Saturday. Too bad it's not in the Interior. The Eielson Ravens, ranked to in the medium and small schools poll will face Nikiski in Nikiski this weekend. The Bulldogs are ranked third. Both teams are 3-0.
No love lost between the schools. Eielson beat Nikiski to clinch state in 2012. The last time they met the Bulldogs ended Eielson's 2013 season in the small schools semis with 38-20 win. That game was tied 20-20 at the half.
EIELSON AFB-In volleyball on Wednesday night the Lathrop Malemutes prevailed in 3 sets over the Eielson Ravens 25-17, 25-23, 25-17.
Cheyenne Dibert had 9 kills, 4 blocks and 4 aces for Lathrop while Lexie Smith had 15 digs, 4 aces and 3 kills for Eielson.
Lathrop is now 2-1.
The Ravens face North Pole on Thursday tonight.
FAIRBANKS-There are some big matchups this week for high school football. The number two ranked Eielson Ravens will travel to the third ranked Nikiski Bulldogs this Saturday at 1 o'clock.
The Bulldogs are the defending small schools champions and this will be a rematch from last year's small schools semifinal game.
This Friday night is the Mayor's Bowl. The Malemutes will take on the Patriots at Patriot Pride Stadium in a non-conference. The Patriots won this matchup last season but both teams come into Friday's game with 2-1 records.

The Alaska Nanooks volleyball team will play St. Edwards University and Tiffin University in the 16th Annual Flint Hills Resources Nanook Classic which begins on Thursday night at 7 p.m. in the Patty Center.

In the medium and small schools poll the Eielson Ravens, at 3-0, have moved up to number two behind Soldotna. Ranked third are the Nikiski Bulldogs then the North Pole Patriots come in at four after their first loss of the season last Thursday. Ketchikan rounds out the top five
