    North Pole's Norton announces college choice

    FAIRBANKS, AK-Allison Norton signed her national letter of intent to play softball for Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato Minnesota awhile ago but made it official this week.

    Norton, a North Pole infielder signed the letter in early April during a campus visit. She liked it so much she chose Bethany over several other schools including a division two program in South Carolina.

    Bethany is a solid program finishing 13-8 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and 20-18 overall this season.

    33rd Chena River Run starts tomorrow morning

    FAIRBANKS, AK-Along with the track meet at Lathrop high school this weekend you can get your running shoes on as well and be a part of a running event. The 33rd Annual Chena River Run will be tomorrow at 10am and over 700 runners have signed and even more by the time of the race start.

    The beginning of the 5K is at Woodriver Elementary School and will end at the Princess Riverside Lodge.

    West Valley's Dominick Anderson signs with Presentation College

    FAIRBANKS, AK-One from the Wolfpack will be moving on to play college football. Senior running back and defensive back Dominick Anderson signed a national letter of intent last evening to play football at Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

    The college has been making a good presentation if you will with Alaska become a hot bed for the growing program. 20 Alaskans are currently on the roster including recent North Pole linebacker/fullback commit Ryan Wicklund and Lathrop's Connor O' Daniel an offensive lineman.
