Smoke moves into Fairbanks

FAIRBANKS- Yesterday's blue skies clouded over and brought the summer's first smoky haze. According to the National Weather Service the smoke is coming from the Kenai Peninsula where the Funny River Fire continues to burn. Local officials say the air quality index is moderate for Fairbanks and North Pole and sensitive people should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion. The current airflow is expected to keep smoke and clouds in the interior until the end of the week.
