FAIRBANKS- The Cooperative Extension Service offers many nutrition classes through their office. One class called, Cooking Matters, provides shopping tips to save money and stay healthy. Reina Hasting, a nutrition educator with Cooperative Extension Service’s Family Nutrition Program explained the program. “We help families learn how to shop and plan to prepare yummy, healthy tasty food all within a limited budget, and it consists of a grocery tour of the store.”
The program targets parents with children five and younger who qualify for public assistance. For more information on Cooking Matters, contact the Cooperative Extension Service at 474-2437.
