City worker contract goes back to negotiations

FAIRBANKS- The Fairbanks City Council once again rejected a union contract brought forward by Mayor John Eberhart. The contract was unchanged from a previous version that the council rejected last month, but the mayor says there were mistakes with its estimated cost. The updated information didn’t sway council members and the majority say they still have concerns about the red ink projected for 2016. The contract between the city and I.B.E.W. covers 42 employees, and Mayor Eberhart says it’s back to the negotiating table.
