After a session of nearly four and a half hours, the Fairbanks North Star Borough assembly Thursday night recessed its budget deliberations until next Thursday.
A number of proposed amendments are still to be considered.
While some citizens said proposed budget cuts were too much, others testified that the borough needed to live within its means.
Some assembly members questioned proposed cuts to animal control, saying previous staffing reductions had already caused problems in that department.
The assembly did approve two labor contracts that borough workers had already voted in favor of.
