Japan looks for energy alternatives

And as that happens, Japan is looking for new forms of energy to replace the 40 plus nuclear reactors disabled by the quake.

Alaska U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski has been meeting with Japanese officials promoting the possibility of exporting natural gas from Alaska's North Slope to meet Japan's energy needs.

She said there's a window of opportunity to export L N G from the North Slope to replace their lost nuclear power generation.
