A 46-year-old woman is in jail at this hour on a "no bail" status for the attempted murder of her estranged husband yesterday afternoon.
Christine Mills is charged with First-Degree Attempted Murder, and Weapons Misconduct.
According to Alaska State Troopers, just before 4pm they received a report of a shooting near 13-mile Chena Hot Springs Road.
They say Mills shot her estranged husband three times with a 22-caliber rifle during a domestic dispute.
The man, identified as “D.M.” in court records, was able to escape the scene in his pickup truck.
Later he was transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital where he was treated for gunshot wounds that did not appear to be life threatening.
Troopers say alcohol was a contributing factor to the incident.
