According to Fairbanks police, the death of a local woman at a downtown apartment complex is likely the result of an accidental cut.

27-year-old Megan Wachter's body was found Friday afternoon in her apartment in the Northward building.

A co-worker at Big Ray's had phoned police when Wachter didn’t show up to work.

Evidence found in the apartment suggests that she accidentally cut herself on a household object and then bled to death.

Police say alcohol may have been a factor, though it will take several weeks to get the toxicology test results.
