DOT officials looking for input

State Department of Transportation officials are still interested in hearing from the public regarding a proposed roundabout project at the intersection of Wembly and Danby streets.

DOT has already held a public information meeting and is eager to hear from more individuals and businesses.

The intersection has seen its fair share of traffic accidents.

From 2003 through 2007, thirteen accidents were reported, prompting highway officials to use Highway Safety Improvement Program funds to alleviate congestion and improve safety.

DOT engineers say roundabouts don't work in every traffic area, but are confident they are the right solution for the Wembly and Danby intersection.

The public can still comment about the proposed project.
