June 20th is the deadline for Fairbanks Sewer and Water to refund about 4.5 million dollars to its customers.
The deal comes from a settlement reached between the company and the Alaska attorney general for years of the company overcharging its customers.
This period occurred between 2005 and 2009.
A company spokeswoman says there are around 7300 active customers who have been identified as potential recipients, while the number of those who were active during the period of overcharges has not been identified.
Active customers will receive credit on their utilities while inactive customers will receive a mailed check.
