The permanent fund's “Pick. Click. Give.” program drew a record amount of donations this year from Alaskans.
The goal was to raise at least two million dollars in charitable donations from Alaska citizens filing their PFDs.
In total, they raised more than two million dollars from 23000 residents diverting money from their yearly dividend check.
400 nonprofit organizations throughout Alaska will be receiving donations thanks to the fundraising.
One of the recipients of funding from the program is the Literacy Council of Alaska.
The administrative assistant there said the state has come up with one of its best programs.
