For the second time in a couple of weeks, over a hundred Fort Wainwright Stryker Brigade soldiers returned to Fairbanks from Afghanistan.
Family and friends were waiting to greet them when they arrived at the army post last night, after being transported from Eielson Air Force Base, where they landed.
The rest of the 4 thousand troop brigade will be returning home over the next several weeks.
A special task force was set up in Afghanistan about a month ago to get the Strykers and their gear packed and headed home. Once all the soldiers have been manifested, they'll get on the aircraft and fly from Afghanistan, to another base.
They'll hold there for a couple days until their flights are ready and then they will fly back to Eielson .
Once there, they'll be met by the rear detachment, processed back into Fort Wainwright and sent home to their families
