Two men die in fire

 

On Saturday evening at about 11:26 PM a fire caused extensive damage to a mobile home located at 839 24th Ave. 
When Fairbanks Firefighters heavy flames were coming from the front windows and door.
The fire was brought under control within about 15 minutes, but firefighters remained on scene for several hours putting out hot spots. 
University Fire and Ft. Wainwright fire responded mutual aid to assist with suppression. Fire is under investigation by fire investigators with the Fairbanks Fire Department.
 
As fire fighters were extinguishing the above fire, a second fire was reported at 713 18thAve (near Rickart & 18th).
A Mutual Aid fire engine from University Fire Department went from the 24th Ave fire to the fire on 18th.
When fire units arrived they found a older model motor home with heavy fire in the front portion. After the fire was knocked down, fire fighters found two bodies inside.
Investigators from Fairbanks Fire and Police are investigating.
Only information available at this time is the two victims were adult males.The bodies will be taken to the Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for an autopsy.
