The Fairbanks North Star Borough School District is set to meet over the 2012–2013 recommended school budgets.
Administrative officials say virtually every department has been reviewed for potential cuts and savings.
The district is looking at a 12.3 million dollar shortfall and has based the budget on flat funding.
Another 3.2 million dollars may become available should the state legislature approve a one–time, 30 million dollar expenditure governor Sean Parnell has proposed to offset transportation and energy costs across the state.
Chief financial officer for the school district, Mike Fisher, says the budget is lean, but the student is still their top priority.
