If you’re in the mood to take in some art, there’s still time to see what local students have created.
Each year the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District and the Fairbanks Arts Association team up to honor the artistic creations of local youth. The work is showcased in a month long exhibit at the Bear Gallery located in Pioneer Park. The students’ work, which ranges from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade, is all juried. This year Mark Fejes and Patricia Carlson reviewed the work.
Anna Gagne-Hawes is with the Fairbanks Arts Association. She says, “I would encourage anyone who has an extra hour to around to the Bear Gallery and walk around and look at the wonderful art that we have in Fairbanks, that our students are creating." She added, “The level of art for the age groups that are producing it is phenomenal.”
The Bear Gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 12:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. The student artwork will be on display through the month of March.
