FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) – The unemployment rate in Alaska is now the lowest it's been since February 2009 - 7.2 percent.
That's a six tenths drop of a point from this time last year.
The national rate sits at 8.3 percent.
Up until the economic crisis of 2008, the United State's unemployment rate was lower than Alaska's.
Since then, there's been a consistent difference of 1 to 2 percent between the two, though that gap has been closing over the last year.
