Wolfpack boys win back to back state cross country titles

ANCHORAGE-In high school cross country the West Valley Wolfpack boys repeated as state champions on Saturday. Three Wolfpack runners were in the top 15 led by Max Donaldson's fifth place finish of 16:13.7 The Wolfpack ran the table winning every regular season race, regionals, and the state championship meet.
Kodiak's Levi Thomet won the boys 5K race in 15:10.8.
West Valley tallied 66 points. West was second with 81 points and Kodiak was third totaling 122 points.

The Lathrop Malemutes ended in eighth and were paced by Sam King's eighth place finish (16:21.7).
For the 4A girls Lathrop and West Valley finished in the top ten. Senior Brooke Lizotte was tenth (19:34.3) to lead the fifth placed Malemutes. Freshman Jenna Difolco placed seventh for the eighth place Wolfpack. Difolco ran a 19:27 time.

West Anchorage won the team title with 56 points followed by Soldotna (90) and Wasilla (111). Kenai's Allie Ostrander won the girls race with a sub 18 minute ran (17:49.5).

In 1-3A Grace Christian won back to back boys and girls titles. The Delta Junction girls team placed fourth led by Zoya TimOshenko's 19th place run (21:04). The boys was paced by Daniel Taterenko's 14th place finish (17:26.4).

The Eielson boys finished in eighth place with Nathan Ezell finishing in just over 19 minutes for the Ravens.
