Wolfpack blitz Patriots on the ice

FAIRBANKS-Today at the Big Dipper the North Pole Patriots and West Valley Wolfpack faced off on the ice.

In the first period West Valley scores after 29 seconds tick off the game clock.. Zach Ahiers comes from the left circle with the puck and makes a nice little juke move and sets up Ethan Cadzow off the rebound for the goal.

Only 37 seconds later the Wolfpack strike again. Gabe Rankin crashes in after the Ethan Daniels deflected pass and it's 2-0 West Valley. Then with three minutes left in the first Caleb Moretz finished off a great individual effort weaving through defenders from the blue line for the unassisted score going five hole on North Pole goalie Alan Heineken. West Valley led 3-0 after one.

But at the 13:50 mark of the second period Carmon Teel gets a goal off the AJ Hebert pass for North Pole.

However, West Valley would answer and answer quickly. Cadzow got his second goal of the game 18 seconds after Teel for a 4-1 Wolfpack advantage. Daniels followed up with a score on a power play later in the period and West Valley led 5-1 after two periods.

The Wolfpack go on to win 7-1. West Valley hosts Kenai Thursday in the Big Dipper at 4:45.
