NORTH POLE WINS

On Thursday the North Pole Patriots traveled up the Rich to take on the Monroe Rams in a non-conference matchup. North Pole is a young team with seniors. The defending 3A state champion Rams bring back five seniors despite losive five seniors from a year ago.

The Patriots were in the Rams' zone early and often and peppered shots on Mount Brose-Nathaniel Brose the outstanding goalie for Monroe. He made a series of saves for the Rams but North Pole got through at the 9:45 mark of the first period with a goal from Jason Donald. Carmon Teel was credited with the assist.

Then just 17 seconds later the Patritos put on in net. Wyatt Conrow gets the rebound goal after missing from point blank range to give the Patriots a 2-0 lead.

Monroe did make it a 2-1 game with a goal from Dylan Steele but North Pole would score two unanswered in the third period and win 4-1 in their season opener.
