West Valley wrestlers make statement

ANCHORAGE, Ak-Revenge or payback can be sweet sometimes. In the Glenn Vandergraw Dimond Classic wrestling tournament over the weekend West Valley's Daide Agnew got his.

Agnew's only loss of the year was to Service's Alexander Nanez in the 126 pound class. Agnew gave Nanez his first loss of the year with a 3-1 win. They're likely to see each other in states for the tie breaker. Hyland Story got revenge for the Wolfpack as well winning the 182 pound title against Palmer's Caleb Nielson 11-7.

For Lathrop Sam Zimmerman and North Pole's Moo Rogers were in the finals but lost their title bouts 4-2 and 3-1.

South who won the John Tobin Invitational won this tournament as well with 148. Wasilla was second with 139. For the Interior North Pole led the way finishing eighth, then Lathrop and West Valley followed.
