West Valley will jump start cross country running this weekend

FAIRBANKS-Not only will the football season be kicking off this weekend but other athletes will be kicking as well. The high school cross country season will start on Saturday with the West Valley Invite.

The Invite will be at West Ridge over by UAF and West Valley High School. This run is warm up event for the season and serves as a chance for those who aren't familiar with cross country try it out.

The 3.2 k race will not be timed and no points will be awarded. Unattached runners can participate aas well. The race starts with freshmen boys and girls at 10 am. Upper classmen girls will be at 10:30 and upper classmen boys will be at 11 am.

The first Interior high school cross country meet is scheduled for Friday August 23 at Chena Lakes.
