Wednesday Night Violence

A lot of tough stories taking us into the weekend, beginning with what FAIRBANKS POLICE ARE DESCRIBING AS AN APPARENT "LOVE TRIANGLE" GONE WRONG.

IT ENDED IN ONE MAN BEING SHOT, A WOMAN KIDNAPPED AT GUNPOINT AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTED, AND THE SUSPECT DEAD OF A GUNSHOT WOUND HOURS LATER.

POLICE SAY AROUND TEN O'CLOCK wednesday NIGHT THEY RECEIVED A REPORT OF A SHOOTING IN THE 15–HUNDRED BLOCK OF 28TH AVENUE.

ACCORDING TO FAIRBANKS POLICE DETECTIVE CHRIS NOLAN, AN UNIDENTIFIED MAN WAS SHOT IN THE LEG BY ANOTHER MAN, LATER IDENTIFIED AS 33–YEAR OLD MICHAEL WILLIAMS OF FAIRBANKS.

NOLAN SAYS WILLIAMS THEN ABDUCTED THE WOMAN AT GUNPOINT, AND FORCED HER TO DRIVE AROUND TOWN.

HE SAYS POLICE CONTACTED THE CAR WILLIAMS WAS TRAVELING IN AROUND  1 A.M. IN THE SOUTH PEGER ROAD AREA.

AS POLICE WERE ABOUT TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE DRIVER, THE WOMAN GOT OUT OF THE CAR, AND WILLIAMS WAS FOUND INSIDE THE CAR DECEASED.

NOLAN SAYS THE UNIDENTIFIED SHOOTING VICTIM WAS TAKEN TO FAIRBANKS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT.

HE SAYS THE WOMAN WAS NOT INJURED.

HE ALSO SAYS ALL THREE PARTIES WERE FAMILIAR WITH EACH OTHER.
