Unseasonably warm temps lead to a wildfire flare up

Strong winds and unseasonably warm temperatures in the Interior have caused the Mississippi Fire near Delta Junction to flare up again.

The large wildfire began in May on Military Training lands south of Delta and in August grew again.

According to the Alaska Fire Service, over the weekend the fire did cross bulldozer lines and expanded by 300 acres.

A 10-member team was sent to respond to the fire on Monday.
