University Priest pleads not guilty to charges

Not guilty pleas today for a University of Alaska Fairbanks Priest accused of multiple charges.

52-year-old Father Sean Thomson of Fairbanks has been placed on administrative leave following charges of DUI, weapons misconduct, and misconduct involving a controlled substance.

This comes after Thomson was pulled over by State Troopers on the Parks Highway near McKinley Village; according to court documents Thomson appeared intoxicated and failed to disclose he was carrying a loaded 9mm with an additional loaded magazine.

Troopers also found a bag of marijuana on the priest, who later refused a chemical test.

Thomson is currently out on bail and is due to appear in court in Nenana on May 27th.
