United Way Announces Co-Chairs

FAIRBANKS, Alaska- The United Way of the Tanana Valley has chosen the local broadcasting duo, Glen Anderson and Jerry Evans, to lead the annual "Live United" fundraising campaign. According to Office Manager Carrie Peterson, "Live United" raised about 1.2 million dollars last year for the United Way of the Tanana Valley. The United Way gives support and money to local non– profit groups that enrich the community. Last year they gave a little more than 1 million dollars.

Evans and Anderson say they are honored to serve the community they grew up in. “We want everyone to know that we are taking this very seriously. And the organizations that are involved in this do great things for the community,” Evans said.  Anderson says they’re gearing up for the challenge. “We know it will be big and we’re hopin Fairbanks will step up and we’re hopin’ to do so as well.”
