UAF'S women's basketball team notches two more recruits

FAIRBANKS, AK-Over the weekend UAF women's basketball head coach Cody Burgess-Bench announced that two junior college transfers have signed national letters of intent to become Nanooks.

Candace Prestwich, from Murray, Utah is coming in from the College of Southern Idaho. Prestwich, the 5-6 guard, is coming off a sophomore year where the Eagles won a Region 18 championship. She average four points last year but is known for defending. While in high school Prestwich was a class 5A honorable mention and was named All-State by the Desert-News in Utah.

Also joining the Nanooks is Ashlyn White, a 5-8 guard hailing from Sanger, California, who in two seasons at Reedley College in California, led the Central Valley Conference in three point percentage. White shot a little over 33 percent and averaged just under seven points and four rebounds per game for Reedley. In high school White was MVP for Fresno Christian Schools basketball and volleyball teams.

White and Prestwich join Josie Broderick of North Pole High school, Autmn Childers, Kailee Skjold and Jordan Wilson as the incoming recruiting class for women's basketball.
