UAF ski teams go 2-3 at NCAA Central Regionals

HOUGHTON, MICH-Yesterday in Houghton, Michigan the Nanook men's ski team took second at the NCAA Central Region Championships.

Sophomore Michael Ferhenbach finished fourth in 41:22.5 to lead the Nooks. Junior Logan Hanneman was one second behind him.

However, Northern Michigan  rallied from three points down after the first day and won the team title by seven points.

The Nanooks women's team placed third. After Nicole Bathe won the 5K classic on Saturday she placed eighth in the 10K to pace the Nooks.

Junior Alyson McPhetres and senior Heather Edic placed 10th and 11th respectively.

NCAA championships start on Mar .6 but final selections will be made after the other region championships across the country are finished.
