FAIRBANKS, AK-Recently the Nanook swim team released their schedule for the upcoming 2013-2014 season. The season starts on October 12 with the Blue Gold Pentathlon where each Nanoook will swim 100 yard races. The season officially begins with the Nanooks hosting Biola on the 25th for two dual meets. The second weekend in November has UAF hosting division on Loyola Marymount.
In December the Nanooks will once again participate in the 65th Husky Invitational competing against six different schools. The last home meet of the season will be against Cal Baptist on January 24.
The big change will be training outdoors in southern California this January instead of their usual midseason training indoors in Flagstaff, Arizona. Head Coach Scott Lemley feels that this will help them be better prepared for the conference championships which are held at outdoor facilities.
The PCSC championships are February 5 in Monterey Park, California. The NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships start March 12 in Geneva, Ohio at the Spire Institute.
