UAF men's basketball pushes no. Vikings to the brink but lose late

BELLINGHAM, WASH-The men's team had no.19 Western Washington on the brink but the Vikings hold on for a 53-51 win ending the Nanooks five game winning streak on Thursday evening.

UAF stymied the Vikings into shooting a season low 37 percent and went on an 8-2 run in the final 36 seconds but Andrew Kelly's halfcourt shot was off at the buzzer.

Kelly had a game high 20 points on 10-13 shooting and nine boards. Austin Bragg led the Vikings with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

The Nooks are now third at 7-3 in the GNAC and face Simon Fraser on Saturday.
