UAF hockey stays on the road for Northern Michigan series

FAIRBANKS-After going 0-1-1 in their last series against Bowling Green the Nanook hockey team will be looking for more than just a point this weekend. UAF travels to North Michigan this weekend. The last time these teams met at the Carlson Center it was a 5-4, 1-2 split.

Rookie Marcus Basara is leading WCHA freshmen with nine goals this year and Cody Kunyk is tied for second in points with 23.

John Keeney and the other UAF netminders will be pivotal. Keeney made 26 saves against the Falcons in the 1-1 tie last week. The Wildcats are coming off a bye and a sweep of Bemidiji State. The Wildcats are 8-1-1 when leading into the third  period. They are also 4-0 at home in that circumstance.

We'll see how it pans out for the Nooks this weekend.
